Coles County Historic Preservation Advisory Council annual awards ceremony recognizing the people who have contributed to historic preservation goals in Coles County. Highlighting this year’s awards will be presentation of the State of Illinois/U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service certificates for inclusion of the Mattoon Lumpkin Heights & Elm Ridge Subdivision and Burgess-Osborne Memorial Auditorium in the National Register of Historic Places.  The awards ceremony will be held at the Burgess-Osborne Auditorium on May 17, and will feature entertainment by the Jay Ferguson Trio.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m., ceremony begins at 7 p.m.  There is no charge for the event and it is open to the public.  For more information go to the Coles County Regional Planning Facebook page at:  https://www.facebook.com/events/1506060606170458/
